This Garmin gpsmap 76csx unit is supposed to be done for marine use, but it makes more sense to be used for mapping an area or around waypoint mapping and so on. It ‘great for street use and the display color really helps to distinguish the features. The map is is damn near useless so ready to fork over another $ 150 for a new set of maps (typical Garmin). If you have the money and get more than one set of maps is great capacity removable card memory. It ‘really easy to use as my technologically dysfunctional mother picked up the basics in a few minutes tops.
A friend of mine and we compared the 60CS exactly how she got to Idaho last summer. He had a better accuracy of about one meter in the flatlands of Montana, but once you got into the mountains and canyons, my unit has its own rhythm of no less than 5 meters. In some areas, his unit, would not even detect the satellites when I am had recorded four or five could be attributed to the receiver Sirf this is.
I received Garmin gpsmap 76csx as a gift for graduation and I loved, but it still has some shortcomings. It is said that accepts rechargeable batteries, but when I put my most Energizer, in which the case closed, but it was really tight. The little latch on the back actually land some of the plastic due to the pressure and therefore do not believe that my drive is much more resistant. I’m too afraid to try, though.
Furthermore there is no way to put it on a tape with the cord they provide. So if you’re hiking or mapping is necessary to bring out all the time or to address the problem of being held. Not very useful / convenient if you want to follow the path with it.
